River is sweet, loves people and has perfect ground manners. Great for farrier - doesn't move. Hard feet and goes barefoot. Gait is natural - no need to get him into it. SMOOOOTH! Also smooth canter. Ties, fly sprays, bathes, gets along with other horses and dogs. Will go out alone or with a group. True black. Does not fade! Thoroughly desensitized to tarps, plastic bags, whips, motorcycles, etc. Very well trained. Side passes, flexes, backs, longes to voice commands, sending exercises. Stands to mount and dismount. Great whoa. Not spooky. Very responsive to slightest cues, only a light hand or leg is needed. Never needs spurs or whip. I stopped riding and I hate to see him just sitting there when he has so much potential. Loves trails!
